Final Farewell to a Good Friend

On Friday September 25 Dan and I had to say our final goodbye to our dear dog Buddy. Buddy Was 16 years old and had a long and happy life with us. We miss him very deeply.

Almost Done

Well it is the middle of August already and our construction project is nearly finished. Dan and I are anxious to finally get into our new space.

Whats left?

Floors are going to be installed next Wednesday, lighting (which we still need to pick out yikes) moldings, installing the bathroom vanity and toilet and then done. We hope to be in by next weekend!!!

Vern's Been Busy

Our contractor Vern has been a very busy fellow. We now have walls and after this weekend we should have a completed roof over the entire house.

Dan and I are really pleased with the new roof line it is coming together just as we had hoped. The new roof has defiantly improved the curb appeal of the house.

It will be two weeks on Monday since construction has started and we can finally see a glimpse of the final project. Our contractor Vern Mosney has been fantastic so far. He has been such a hard worker. The man has even been working on the weekends. We couldn't believe it when we heard hammering the day after the 4Th of July at 7:30am. Now that is a dedicated contractor.

Here is a ruff drawing of the final product. The windows are in the wrong locations on the existing part of the house in the drawing, but gives an idea of where we are going.

We are a ways away from this but we are on our way. Vern the contractor estimates the house to be done in Six weeks

Time For an update

It's been a couple of months now and I think it is time for an update. There have been some big changes for us, some that we were prepared for and others that we never could prepare for. The biggest change we had was the unfortunate and incredibly unexpected death of Dan's father Robert"Bob" Pflepesen. It has been a few weeks since his death and Dan and I as well as his Mother are all doing as well as we can be in this situation. Thank you to all of you for your support. We are so lucky to have such wonderful Family, and Friends. I would like to send a special thank you to the DL crew and the Shoeberg Family for traveling down to St. Cloud for the Memorial Service and Funeral. We miss you Bob

We Need More Space


Most recently we decided to put an addition on our house. Construction or destruction is now in full force. It is messy messy messy. It looks like a tornado came through don't ya think.






The addition will gives us 2 stall attached garage, mud room and a master bed and bath with more closet space. I can't wait for it to be done.

Happy Easter

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter. Dan and I celebrated Easter with Dan's family today. We went out to Dan's uncle Jim's and had a great Easter Brunch. Dan's uncle Jim and his wife Jodie live out in the county on a beautiful hill. They have all sorts of foul that they care for. (Chickens, Guinie foul, and 5 Peacocks.) Here are a few Pictures of the birds and some other random photos.

This is a picture of Dan and our old boat. This boat was Dans grandfathers fishing boat and he grew up fishing out of this boat on Grand lake. We used it our first year of living in DL and have a lot of fun memories on this little boat.

Saturday night we had a much overdue visit with the Mockros family. It was a nice night for grilling and catching up. Thanks Keith and Jess for a great night. We Miss you guys.

Here is a picture of the Purse that I made for Jess for her birthday. I saw a similar one on etsy and did my best to replicate it. I have found that I can not follow a pattern and do much better without. Etsy is my new addiction. I could be on that site for hours. I love to look at all the items and see what I might be able to make myself.

Lilly got a much needed hair cut on Friday. It was getting to the point that I was almost embarrassed to take her to the groomer because she was so shaggy. They took her so short it is almost like we have a whole new Dog.

WHERE IS SPRING?????

Any answers? The last time I checked it was April. What the heck is going on. We need spring.

I survived this weekend alone.

This weekend Dan was gone to Hibbing for a bonspiel which for those of you who don't know what a bonspiel is it is a curling tournament, and for those of you who don't know what curling is you will have to look it up because I don't quite know how to explain it. Dan has been gone now since Thursday afternoon and I miss him dearly. Fortunately he is on his way home now and should be home in three hours or so Yippee. They WON their first match and sadly lost their last three. All and all it sounds like he had a good time and in the end isn't that what matters. (that is what people say anyway)

Last night I went to our friend Kerry's 30Th birthday party. Great Job!!! to her husband Bret for throwing a great party.

Have you ever tried to type with two little dogs staring at you?

Doesn't sound hard does it but I find it very difficult to concentrate while they are both siting there staring at me. They won't give up they always win the staring contest.

Lilly as we speak is running around and around with her favorite toy trying desperately to get either myself or Buddy to play with her. Buddy is an old man dog who does not want to be bothered with Lilly's shenanigans. And I have been trying to finish this post now for almost an hour. She will just have to wait.

I think I am going to go and do some housework before Dan comes home to a disaster. Crafting was in full force while he was away.

Sick of Being Sick

I have been bedridden the past 2 days with a cold and the flu and I think it is time to redecorate the bedroom. I can't stand to be in there any more. Today I was supposed to go to my nephews Birthday party in St. Cloud but unfortunately I will not be able to make it. I would hate to get little man sick on his birthday. Hope you have a great day Bryce and remember Auntie Megan loves you and uncle Dan too!

My First Post

This will be my first posting on Dan and I new blog. I do so enjoy visiting my friends blogs so I decided to start one of my own. I know all my friends and family can't wait to see all the amazing photos that I take of Lilly and Buddy. Okay maybe they can wait but I wanted to see what this is all about.
